Rocks

I was introduced to rock climbing in late December. Since then I have been completely addicted to it. Throughout this short time in rockclimbing I have been meeting great people in the rock climbing community. For the past few weeks I have been photographing my journey, strangers who've turned into friends, and the environments that surround me. The quiet determination of a climber becomes loud. Climbers figure out ways to solve a set route, and use their strength, flexibility, and endurance to achieve their intended way. I was drawn to the process and the execution of a climber. Outside of this project I am drawn to portraiture and I wanted to integrate it in the project. In my individual portraits I tried to capture their personality. Part of their personality can be seen through their clothing or their expression in front of the camera. For now I am leaving this book and series unfinished as I discover how long I can take this rock climbing journey.
